Chart Hills Golf Club Makes a Splash in Golf World’s Top 100
Great news for golf lovers! Chart Hills Golf Club has made its way back into Golf World’s Top 100 Courses in England, and it’s all thanks to an extensive five-year restoration program. This project kicked off after RAMAC took over the club in 2019, breathing new life into this beloved golfing destination.
A Transformation to Remember
The primary goal of the restoration? To elevate the golfing experience from the very first tee all the way to that final putt. Golfers can expect a fantastic overall experience that satisfies even the most seasoned players. One of the standout features of this restoration is the introduction of a brand-new six-hole par-3 course, aptly named The Loop, which was designed by the legendary Sir Nick Faldo. Positioned conveniently next to the practice range, this fun and tactical course is not just for the serious golfer; it also provides an excellent way to polish your wedge control or add some excitement to the tail end of your round.
New Features to Enhance Your Game
But wait, there’s more! A massive 668 m² putting green has also been unveiled, inspired by none other than Sir Nick Faldo’s favorite contours. One area of this new putting green is playfully dubbed the Valley of Sin, delivering just the right amount of challenge to keep golfers engaged.
A Classic Course with Signature Holes
Chart Hills first opened its doors in 1993, and it has been a hot spot for thrilling golf experiences ever since. Naturally, Sir Nick Faldo fans hold this course in especially high regard. Among the many standout holes is the par-5 “Anaconda” 5th hole, which boasts one of Europe’s longest bunkers. The 17th hole, featuring a signature island green, is another fan favorite—it’s a real test of skill that requires precise yardage to conquer.
Improvements Across the Board
In 2020-2021, the club undertook a sandcapping project across all 18 fairways. This initiative improved year-round playability and consistency on the course, with lots of golfers singing praises for a firmer and truer playing surface, even during those rainy days. Not stopping there, between 2024-2025, all 72 tee boxes were leveled, drained, and re-turfed to ensure a consistent presentation throughout the calendar year.
New Amenities Await
A set of new yardage markers has also been installed, allowing golfers a choice of distances ranging from just over 5,500 yards to winding up to over 7,100 yards. And for those looking to stay a little longer, The Barn—a brand-new venue—opened its doors in 2024, featuring four boutique suites. Accommodating up to eight guests, it’s perfect for golf groups or even intimate weddings.
Stay & Play Packages Coming Soon!
Exciting news is brewing, too! Stay & Play packages will be available starting at just £199 per person, offering an incredible golfing getaway. Mark your calendars; these packages will be up for grabs from October 2025 until March 2026.
Ongoing Improvement and a Bright Future
Nestled in the heart of Kent, Chart Hills Golf Club has often been described as a young classic in English golf. Notably, it is the only Signature Faldo Design course in Europe and has played host to prestigious events like the Ladies English Open and the Qualifying School for the DP World Tour. And the improvements aren’t stopping anytime soon! The club is committed to continuously enhancing its facilities to offer an unparalleled golf experience.
So gear up, golfers! Chart Hills Golf Club is not just back on the map, it’s better than ever! Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this isn’t a golfing experience you’ll want to miss.
