Gary Seewald, who was born on June 27, 1946, was the devoted husband of the late Vicki Seewald. Together, they raised two daughters, Beth Kaliff, married to Matthew Kaliff, who reside in University Heights, OH, and Jodi Smith, married to Adam Smith, who live in Needham, MA. In addition to his roles as a father, Gary was a cherished grandfather, adored by his six grandchildren: Eli, Yaacov, Sara, Leah Kaliff, and Noah and Tali Smith.
He was the son of the late Lothar and Helma Seewald and is survived by his dear sister, Ruth Newberg, who is married to Marc Newberg and lives in Greenwich, CT. Gary also had a late brother, Milton Seewald, who is survived by his wife Barbara residing in Briarcliff, NY. His passing has created a void that will be felt deeply by his family and friends.
Funeral services honoring Gary’s life will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel on October 6, 2025, at noon. The chapel is located at 1985 South Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118. Following the service, interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, situated at 12316 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH.
After interment, the family will receive visitors at the Kaliff residence until 4:00 PM, offering an opportunity for friends and family to come together in remembrance and support of one another during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice in Gary’s memory, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Arrangements for these services were entrusted to the directors at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel.
Gary Seewald will be remembered not only for his dedication to his family, but also for his involvement in the community and the positive impact he made on the lives of those around him.
