Brewster, Washington – Gamble Sands Golf Resort is set to elevate its status among premier golf destinations with the unveiling of its new Scarecrow Course on August 1, 2025. This new addition will complement the original Gamble Sands course, which has already gained recognition and accolades since its opening in 2014.

The original course has been celebrated as the No. 2 golf course in Washington State and is ranked 24th among all public-access courses in the U.S. With the debut of the Scarecrow Course, designed in collaboration with Nick Schaan of DMK Golf Design, the resort aims to provide golfers with a contrasting yet harmonious experience. The Scarecrow Course, set on more rugged terrain, features richer green contours, challenging layouts, and a par of 71 stretching over 6,900 yards.

The opening hole of the Scarecrow Course is a strategically designed short par-4, allowing players to employ various risk-and-reward strategies. The overall course layout encourages creativity, with diverse angles and slopes tailored to challenge golfers of all skill levels. Players can expect fast and firm surfaces courtesy of the traditional fine fescue turf, making for an enjoyable and engaging golfing experience.

Golfers at Gamble Sands will also be treated to stunning scenic views throughout their rounds, notably including a captivating vineyard backdrop on the 9th hole of the Scarecrow Course. The resort has further enhanced its offerings by expanding the Inn to include 40 new double-king golf-view rooms, bringing the total number of luxury accommodations to 77.

In addition to the two championship courses, Gamble Sands has unveiled new food and beverage options at the clubhouse and The Barn restaurant. The resort also features a well-stocked golf shop and a dedicated practice facility, catering to both beginners and experienced golfers alike.

Accessibility to Gamble Sands is convenient, with the resort located just over three hours from Seattle, 90 minutes from Wenatchee, and 2.5 hours from Spokane, making it an attractive destination for golf enthusiasts across the region. Beyond the main courses, visitors can also enjoy the QuickSands short course and the Cascades putting course, providing additional golfing variety.

Gamble Sands has undergone significant transformations, moving from previously cultivated apple orchards and cornfields to a coveted golf destination under the guidance of the Gebbers family. This development places it alongside elite golf resorts like Bandon Dunes, Streamsong, and Pebble Beach, sparking conversations among golfers regarding course superiority.

The layered experiences across both courses are designed to engage golfers in thoughtful evaluations of their preferences, further enhancing the charm and appeal of the Gamble Sands experience. As the Scarecrow Course prepares to open, expectations are high for what this new layout will add to the already distinguished reputation of Gamble Sands Golf Resort.
