Exciting Updates from the University of Michigan and the Rocket Classic!

Big changes are afoot at the University of Michigan, as they’re on the hunt for a new president. After their top pick had to step back, the race is on with two other Big Ten schools also looking for fresh leadership. It’s a bit of a scramble, but we can’t wait to see who gets the role!

Rocket Classic Tickets Are Here!

If you’re a golf fan, get ready for some exciting news! Tickets for the Rocket Classic Presented by AlumniFi are now officially on sale! This year’s tournament will tee off at the renovated Detroit Golf Club from July 30 to August 2, marking eight years of golfing excellence in the area.

Scores of Savings on Tickets!

Here’s the deal: if you snag your tickets early, you can save big with prices up to 50% lower than they will be in 2025. How about that? On Thursday, July 30, grounds tickets start at just $31.30, keeping in mind Detroit’s famous 313 area code. Be quick, as these advance prices are only valid until June 30.

Looking at the rest of the weekend, Friday’s second-round tickets are set at a cool $48, while Saturday and Championship Sunday tickets will cost you $58. After June, ticket prices will jump to $68 for Thursday and Friday and $78 for the weekend. It’s a great time to grab those tickets!

Parking Made Easy

Lawrence Technological University in Southfield and Oakland Mall in Troy for convenient access. Plus, VIP parking will still be available at the University of Detroit Mercy. But don’t forget, it’s best to secure your parking pass with your tickets since spots are limited!

Round-trip shuttle service will connect all parking locations to the Detroit Golf Club, making it easy-peasy for everyone to get to and from the tournament.

Enhancing the Golfing Experience

$16 million renovation, enhancing the experience for players while staying true to Donald Ross’ original design from 1914. Fans can indulge in the action from unique viewing decks or follow their favorite golfers around the course as they swing for the win!

Have a group of ten or more? Special ticket rates are available just for you! And hey, students get breaks on pricing too! Military personnel and Detroit Public Schools faculty can enjoy complimentary tickets. To sweeten the deal, children aged 15 and under can join for free when accompanied by a ticketed adult (up to four per adult).

Community Commitment

$10 million into local charities, making a positive impact with initiatives like “Changing the Course,” which aims to bridge the digital divide in the community. This year is particularly poignant as it’s the last under the current contract with the PGA Tour, with no word yet on what might happen after 2026.

Exciting Golf Apparel News!

Detroit Metro Airport this month! Situated in the McNamara Terminal at Gate 34, this new 300-square-foot spot will offer a collection of Eastside Golf apparel, from sweatshirts to bucket hats. Founded in 2019 by two Detroit natives, Eastside Golf is set to expand its reach even further.

Carrington Golf Club in Monroe Charter Township is on the market for $2.5 million. With its beautiful 18-hole course and a reputation for hosting numerous events, this could be a golden opportunity for golf enthusiasts!
